Recently I have been thinking about waiting patiently & holding onto patient Hope.
In the midst, of our hurting & chaotic world, the business of life and the stresses and strains we all feel, hearing Abba’s voice through the din is so vital!
His voice IS constant.
I need my ears & heart more attune and ready to hear- and the more I recognise His voice, the more I am finding it’s the still, small voice in the everyday – these small personal reminders, that hit home the hardest.
Holding onto these daily promises of His goodness, cut through the coating that obscures the truth of who Abba is.
He is Love.
When I receive, and give His love to others, I sense that closeness once again.
We are told in Isaiah 49, “Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.”
These marks are indelible. We are thought of, treasured, interceded and watched over more than we will know.
In my own work, an idea I love is one where a parent or carer will draw or write something on their child’s hand and on their own, the same design, so that during the day, their child, who may be anxious away from them can see this and know they are thought of, even though that person isn’t physically right there just yet.
It holds that patient promise, that I am loved and accepted and thought of dearly, even when not being able to see that person.
How much more does our Heavenly Father think and fight for us. How much more loved are we than we can ever imagine.
Abba’s marks cannot be removed, cannot be erased or changed.
We are a part of Him.
We are chosen.
May we hold onto this, especially in these days and as Christmas dawns.
We are deeply loved.
Our Father, sending Jesus, His Son – His Kingdom, came, as a baby.
Jesus – light and Hope of the world.
Your Kingdom come,
Amen.
